Qantas has released images of its next-gen Premium Economy seating. The airline will increase the size of its Premium Economy seats when it begins flying Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft later this year. The seats will be 10% wider than Qantas' current Premium Economy seats, which it offers on A380 and Boeing 747 aircraft, and also will limit the cabin size to 28 seats, compared with the current size of 32 to 40 seats. The new seats will offer more functional space with five storage compartments. They also feature a unique recline motion, where several sections of the seat shift to offer support as the seat reclines, and an integrated pillow headrest. Configured in a 2-3-2 layout, the 28 seats will include 25% larger seatback in-flight entertainment screens. See photos

Qantas has eight Dreamliner aircraft set for delivery beginning in October and will first use the aircraft on flights between Melbourne and Los Angeles in December, followed by Perth-London service in March 2018. Qantas will consider updating its current Premium Economy cabins with the new seating.
