Travel News 29 Mar 2017

Airport officials will close the main runway at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) from 2 April – 29 April to allow for runway resurfacing.

Officials have said with reduced capacity, the closure will force the cancellation of approximately 300 flights a day however the closure will not affect international flights but 19 domestic airlines will be impacted, including Air China, China Southern and Hainan Airlines.

Although the main runway will be closed the airport will still be running two of its runways. FCM recommends travellers reconfirm flights and allow extra travel time in case of inevitable delays.
