Considering China is a key market in its future strategy, Hilton is planning to introduce more brands into China.
With the unveiling of Waldorf Astoria Chengdu on July 31st and the opening Hilton Group’s 200th hotel in the Asia-Pacific region, Mr. Jin Qian, Hilton Worldwide president for Greater China & Mongolia said that there would be new brands to be introduced into China soon. "400 Hilton hotels are in the pipeline for the Asia Pacific region. Asia Pacific is believed to present great potential as the region", said Mr. Jin Qian.
In addition to Hilton, Marriott, IHG and others are also expanding their brand portfolio into China. Second and third or even fourth-tier cities in China are expected to be developed by some international chain hotels.
