QR airline codes make check-in easier and faster at both Shanghai and Guangzhou airports

QR Code Boarding Pass in China
Travel News 29 Sep 2017

Since 20 Sep, domestic flight passengers flying with China Southern Airlines, Air China, Shenzhen Airlines, Chongqing Airlines, among others, at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport can check-in with a QR code on their mobile phones, instead of a printed boarding pass.

It is part of the efforts made by Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to create a ‘smart airport community’ featuring quicker check-in procedures.

Meanwhile, both airports in Shanghai have implemented the innovative service for security checks of domestic flights taken by some airlines.

Unaccompanied children and infants, and passengers with check-in luggage, however, have to check-in at the airline counters. Passengers whose QR codes are unidentifiable, should also check-in at the airline counters.
